EV Foundations / Diagnostic guide

EV POST-REPAIR VERIFICATION.

Prove READY operation, charging, thermal control and network integrity before returning the vehicle.

EV GUIDE04/24
⚠ TRAINING BOUNDARY

Use this guide to organize evidence. Vehicle-specific high-voltage access, measurements and component isolation require OEM procedures, appropriate qualifications, rated PPE and approved test equipment.

GUIDE PURPOSE

Diagnose the system—not one isolated value.

Confirm vehicle state, operating conditions and the full DTC record before clearing evidence or opening the high-voltage system.

01 / HOW IT WORKS

Theory and operation

Clearing DTCs is not verification; the repair must survive wake, READY, propulsion, shutdown, sleep and charging transitions.

02 / WHAT TO CAPTURE

Diagnostic evidence

Record isolation status, contactor feedback, DC-to-DC voltage, charge power, thermal requests, remaining DTCs and readiness limitations.

03 / TEST STRATEGY

Safe diagnostic path

Repeat the original failure conditions safely, run the OEM post-repair routines, rescan every module and document changed learned values.

04 / STOP CONDITION

Boundary and common error

Stop if isolation, thermal distress, unexpected contactor state or a safety-system DTC returns.

OEM DATA SETS THE LIMIT

Specifications, connector access, disable sequences, wait times and allowable tests vary by model and voltage architecture.
