Battery & High Voltage / Diagnostic guide

BATTERY DATA INTERPRETATION.

Read cell, module, temperature, energy and power-limit data as a coordinated system.

EV GUIDE06/24
⚠ TRAINING BOUNDARY

Use this guide to organize evidence. Vehicle-specific high-voltage access, measurements and component isolation require OEM procedures, appropriate qualifications, rated PPE and approved test equipment.

GUIDE PURPOSE

Diagnose the system—not one isolated value.

Confirm vehicle state, operating conditions and the full DTC record before clearing evidence or opening the high-voltage system.

01 / HOW IT WORKS

Theory and operation

State of charge, state of health and displayed range are calculated estimates; available charge/discharge power can be limited by temperature, imbalance or protection strategy.

02 / WHAT TO CAPTURE

Diagnostic evidence

Compare cell minimum, maximum and delta; module temperatures; pack current; contactor state; isolation; energy throughput and power limits under repeatable conditions.

03 / TEST STRATEGY

Safe diagnostic path

Save cold-soak, key-on, loaded and charging snapshots, then look for the same cell or module separating consistently.

04 / STOP CONDITION

Boundary and common error

Do not condemn a pack from a single rounded PID, one idle snapshot or an undocumented threshold.

OEM DATA SETS THE LIMIT

Specifications, connector access, disable sequences, wait times and allowable tests vary by model and voltage architecture.
