Correct theory and operation
Separate controller command, loaded circuit behavior and useful mechanical or thermal output.

Identify the installed actuator and driver from vehicle-specific service information. Test only the applicable circuit; different constructions require different connections and equipment.
Current rise, running level, commutation and turn-off behavior expose winding condition, resistance and mechanical loading.
Position, pressure, speed, temperature or current feedback may be separate from the actuator circuit and must agree with command.
Common mistakes
On an identified solenoid injector, the voltage command and current rise align consistently. Current limiting and turn-off behavior match the driver design. A subtle change associated with pintle movement may be visible on some injectors, but is not universal.
No current during a verified command can indicate an open circuit or missing feed. An unusual ramp or early current limit can point to circuit, coil or supply problems. Correct electrical operation does not prove fuel flow or sealing; compare with balance, pressure and leakage tests. Piezo injectors use a different charge/discharge strategy.
COMPLETE TEST SEQUENCE
Know the driver design, current limit, feedback circuit and safety consequences before applying external power.
Identify the installed design before testing. Construction, signal format and redundant channels are separate attributes; use only the procedure for the actual component.
